Merry Christmas and a happy new year

Yes, it’s this time of the year. Here in Norway it’s the third Christmas day. We just keep counting Christmas days until it’s New Years Eve. So when you get invited between Christmas and New Year’s they might say: How about 4th Christmas day, 5pm? aka 29th of December.

Still alive – back with new recipes

The last weeks have been full with appointments, things to do and just long days at the office. Last time fall had just started, now it feels like winter is just around the corner.

Last weekend was Halloween but at our boys kindergarten they had a troll fest instead of Halloween, since it’s not an original celebration in Norway. They had made troll tails at the kindergarten, we parents weren’t allowed to brush the hair nor to wash the face (trolls aren’t that clean). They sang troll songs, ate green cereal for lunch and for the afternoon snack I’d prepared scary spider cookies.

Fall – already

Since the last post we’ve visited Germany, munchkin has turned 2, M has been in London and the season has changed from summer to fall.

It’s jam season

Finally the strawberries and raspberries are here and I’ve picked a lot of pounds in the last couple of weeks. Everything is about a month later than usual due to the cold summer. July was mostly cold with temperatures around 12C and rain paired with heavy winds. But here is August and the last few days have been awesome and really warm. Yeah!

Back from the US

And there we’re back home again. Our jet-lags are history, munchkin is going to barnehage again, the weather is most of the time cold and rainy but right now the sun is spoiling us at least until tomorrow.

The time in the US went as every time way too quickly. We went to La Jolla first where we stayed at a small inn for a few days. Just a road and the beach where separating us from the ocean. We watched sea lions and seals, pelicans, squirrels aka cliff rats and seagulls aka beach rats. From there we explored the nearby surroundings and found bakeries and cafes, a toy shop, the Legends gallery etc. We visited San Diego twice, once for picking up our bibs for the race and then of course on race day again. The weather god was good with us so the weather was chilly in the morning which was just perfect for us.

It’s almost end of May, Pentecost Monday and which kind of weather do we have? -Rain, wind, cool temperatures. Without a calendar it would be difficult to believe it’s end of May.

Just a few more weeks

and we are heading to San Diego and Eugene. I’m getting goose bumps when thinking about this really really long distance which we have to accomplish with just so little training. We’ll manage somehow. In exactly 26 days at that time we should be done with the race and enjoying dinner.

Up and down

Hi, we are back. Finally. The last weeks have been a constant up and down.

Crazy busy

We have no idea why but the time is just flying and our munchkin is growing way too fast. The last couple weeks have been busy again. 2 weeks ago was Mother’s day here in Norway and yesterday Valentine’s day world wide.
